Jami Jo Ranson locked her screaming infant in an ice chest

Ponchatoula, LA – Jami Jo Ranson was arrested on charges of child desertion after a witness rescued her baby this week. Jami Jo had locked her baby in an ice chest that also had a gas can in it.

According to police, a witnesses saw her place her baby in the container and did nothing as the child “continuously screamed.” Afraid for the baby’s life, the good samaritan stepped in and rescued the baby, then called Baton Rouge Police. I hope that this saint among us knocked this bitch out of the way and got that baby to safety.

Police arrested this terrible mother on probable cause and booked her for child desertion. After she was arrested, they also found that she was in possession of controlled prescription drugs, which warranted additional charges.

The baby, who was luckily unharmed, is now in the custody of child protective services. Jami Jo is being held in jail on $10,000 bond.

Let’s hope she doesn’t get anywhere near that precious baby again.
